African Centre for the Constructive Resolution of Disputes

ACCORD is an institute committed to the prevention, management and resolution of conflicts in Africa. ACCORD’s primary aim is to influence political developments across the continent by encouraging conflict resolution and dialogue as an alternative to armed violence and protracted conflict.
The website publishes news and hosts two ACCORD’s publications:
Conflict Trends, which focuses on reporting on and analysing trends in current and emerging conflicts on the continent of Africa. In all, 28 issues had been produced in march 2006, some of them in partnership with UN agencies. All the issues are available on the site; articles are available as free downloads in PDF format.
The African Journal on Conflict Resolution, an academic journal focusing on conflict transformation in Africa. Articles are longer and more in depth than those found in Conflict Trends, and of an overtly academic nature. However, readership is not limited to academic institutions, and literary style has deliberately been kept accessible and straightforward. Copies of all articles from all editions of the journal can be downloaded from the site.

The Reality of Aid

The Reality of Aid project is a major north/south international non-governmental initiative focusing exclusively on analysis and lobbying for poverty eradication policies and practices in the international aid regime. It brings together more than 40 civil society networks working in the field of international cooperation in the 22 donor countries, in Asia, the Americas and Africa. The project builds on a ten-year track record of independent assessment of aid policies and practices, accompanied by constructive dialogue with policy makers at national and international levels. The Reality of Aidproject aims to contribute to more effective international aid and development cooperation strategies to eliminate poverty, based on principles of North/South solidarity and equity.
Its website proposes documents and reports on Governance and Human Rights, Millenium Development Goals, Security and Conflict Resolution, and Relief and Rehabilitation.

International Crisis Group

The International Crisis Group is an independent, non-profit, non-governmental organisation, with over 110 staff members on five continents, working through field-based analysis and high-level advocacy to prevent and resolve deadly conflict. The group publishes reports as well as an monthly bulletin, CrisisWatch.
The website contains reports, databases and resources on conflict issues as well as media resources and speeches. Website available in French, Russian, Indonesian, Spanish and Arabic.
