The New Economics Foundation

nef was founded in 1986 by the leaders of The Other Economic Summit (TOES). It aims to find innovative solutions that challenge mainstream thinking on economic, environment and social issues. nef works on specific project areas through practical pilots and tools for change, in-depth research, campaigning, policy discussion. Its three main areas of focus are currently ‘Real world economics’, ‘Ghost town britain’, and ‘well-being’. nef aims to expose the problems with the international finance and economic systems and create appropriate remedies. nef’s leading aim is to create a new economy that serves people and the planet. It proposes alternative ways of measuring progress towards increased well-being and environmental sustainability.
The website gives access to a number of new projects, research and studies by the group, publications and ideas. There is also information on how to get involved in the many campaigns.

The Participatory Economics Project

The Participatory Economics Project is a campaign to promote critical and creative thought on economic issues and vision. Participatory Economics (parecon for short) is a type of economy proposed as an alternative to contemporary capitalism.
The site offers a list of useful books published on the subject, some of which are available in full on the site. They are divided into introductory texts, more in-depth, and those which show how to implement the theories.

EconPapers

EconPapers provides access to RePEc, the world’s largest collection of on-line Economics working papers, journal articles and software (345,288 searchable working papers, articles and software items with 246,246 items available on-line).
