international library for a responsable world of solidarity ritimo

Child Soldiers

The Coalition to Stop the Use of Child Soldiers was formed in May 1998 by leading international human rights and humanitarian organizations. It works to prevent the recruitment and use of children as soldiers, to secure their demobilisation and to ensure their rehabilitation and reintegration into society.
The website offers information categorised by country and region. There is also a section on International Standards on children and armed conflict; information for journalists; a comprehensive section on DDR (disarmament, demobilization and reintegration) of child soldiers; the Child Soldiers Newsletter and the Global Report. The coalition has also developed a psycho-social section to foster a constructive inter and intra-disciplinary dialogue on relevant psycho-social issues in the area of children and armed conflict.

Human Security Gateway

The Human Security Gateway is a research and information database regrouping electronic and bibliographic resources on human security. The Gateway is a joint initiative of the Human Security Centre and the Canadian Consortium on Human Security, both located at the University of British Columbia.
The database offers extensive online resources, searchable by either theme (terrorism, small arms, children and armed conflict etc), region, country or type of resource (report, organisation, event audiovisual etc).
