international library for a responsable world of solidarity ritimo

Cageprisoners

Cageprisoners.com is a non-sectarian Islamic human rights website that exists solely to raise awareness of the plight of the prisoners at Guantanamo Bay and other detainees held as part of the War on Terror. The web-site is not aligned to any Islamic group or organisation. The site was launched in October 2003 during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan by individual Muslim volunteers.

International Center for Transitional Justice

ICTJ assists countries pursuing accountability for past mass atrocity or human rights abuse. The Center works in societies emerging from repressive rule or armed conflict, as well as in established democracies where historical injustices or systemic abuse remain unresolved.
The website, which gives in-depth details of current programmes, is also available in French, Arabic and Spanish.

International Freedom of Expression Exchange

IFEX is a network of organisations and individuals which fight for the freedom of expression and was formed in 1992. The Clearing House helps coordinate the work of IFEX members, reducing overlap among their activities and making them more effective in their shared objectives. Their work includes Action Alert Network which reports on freedom of expression abuses and then circulates this information.
The site has a list of upcoming events and training programmes in the field of the defense of free speech and news alerts by regions. The site is also available in French and Spanish.
